ARLEEN BANDLER, LCSW, MSW Psychotherapist and Certified Psychoanalyst I am a graduate of the four-year psychoanalytic program at TRISP. I have been a supervisor faculty member at TRISP. I have been in private practice for over fifteen years, working with adults, individually and couples. My office is in Nyack, NY in Rockland County. I specialize in Addictions, Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender issues as well as women's issues, anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, trauma and health issues. I am a former Clinical Director of Identity House. ELIZABETH A. BARING, CREATIVE ARTS THERAPIST Advanced degree: Master of Science in Art Therapy; Psychoanalyst Sandplay Practitioner An established professional, Liz Baring uses three different and effective approaches, independently and in combination, working both non-verbally and verbally. She is acredited by the Sandplay Therapy Association as a credentialled Sandplay Practitioner. She can practice in Spanish and English. I provide a safe place for children and adults to be heard and understood; explore and understand what's going on in their lives right now; and tend and nourish important and neglected parts of themselves. I use a proven process to help them achieve real and meaningful inner growth, peace and balance. I've enabled children and adults to develop, feel good about themselves, and resolve their emotional issues, at their own pace and level. LILY T. BEER-CHIAVETTA, LCSW Degree: MSW; Certificate in Psychoanalysis I work with adults and seniors from diverse backgrounds and sexual orientations. I have been trained as an Emotionally Focused Couples (EFT) therapist and work with couples and family members. I use EMDR, focusing and dream work depending on the individual's needs. BERNICE BELTH, MSW Licensed Certified Social Worker in the State of New York I am a graduate of the TRISP program in Psychoanalysis, a certified psychoanalyst who has worked extensively with the psychoanalytic treatment of trauma and eating disorders. I am an active member of the TRISP community where I serve as co-director of the Psychological Referral Network as well as a supervisor DORIS BROTHERS, PH.D. Ph.D. Clinical Psychology A central focus of my professional career is trauma and its intergenerational transmission. This is reflected in the three books I've written: Toward a Psychology of Uncertainty: Trauma-Centered Psychoanalysis. Analytic Press (2008); Falling Backwards: An Exploration of Trust and Self-Experience. W.W. Norton & Co. (1995); and, with Richard B Ulman, The Shattered Self: A Psychoanalytic Study of Trauma. Analytic Press (1988). I've also examined gender, faith, forgiveness, and most recently, the application of psychoanalysis to societal issues. I have written 7 chapters in the Progress in Self Psychology series, as well as numerous journal articles. I have presented papers at many professional meetings. FRANCES V. DILLON, MSW MS Counseling Psychology; MSW Social Work; Certificate in Psychoanalysis I am experienced working with people ranging in age from young adults to older adults. I appreciate cultural, ethnic and professional diversity including artistic/creative professions. I am interested in the particular issues facing men, women, and couples in our progressively complex world. I have two certificates: Eating Disorders, Compulsions and Addictions; and Seeking Safety for trauma and abuse recovery. An area of special interest is self-identity and place in the world and relationship satisfaction. NANCY R. HICKS, PSY.D. LIVINGSTON, PH.D Ph.D in Clinical Psychology and Human Development I work with individuals as well as couples. A certified psychoanalyst, I am faculty and supervisor at TRISP and at Postgraduate Center for Mental Health Group Therapy Training Department. An alumnae of both institutes and an active member of each, I have published a number of articles focusing on responsiveness, shame, dreams, and the forward edge from a self-psychological/ intersubjectivist perspective. I strive to empathically resonate and interact with each patient that aids in growth. MARTY LIVINGSTON, PH.D. CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY Licensed in Clinical Psychology, New York State Marty sees individuals, as well as works with couples and groups. He is the author of about 30 journal articles and several books. The most recent book is a novel about early loss and the struggle to develop a solid sense of self, titled, Searching. The previous one is Vulnerable Moments: Deepening the Therapeutic Process. He has been in practice since the 1960's and getting younger each year. LESLIE LAMPE LONG, M.A., M.ED., LMHC Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the states of New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. I have a particular interest in and extensive experience with the psychoanalytic treatment of gay men. In addition, I supervise psychotherapists and psychoanalysts. I am on the faculty of TRISP and of The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (ICP). AVIVA ROHDE, PH.D, LP. Advanced degree in Clinical Psychology. KAREN ROSER, PSY.D. Psy.D. in School Psychology, NYU GERTI SCHOEN, LP New York State licensed psychoanalyst, trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and relational self-psychology. My focus is on strengthening your sense of self and help you build fulfilling and lasting relationships, individually, with couples as well as in groups. Licensed Clinical Social Worker, New York State My special interests include self-esteem Issues, relationships, single parenting, life transitions, women at midlife, and adult ADD. I am also interested in how new information from neuroscience imaging studies that provide a biological underpinning for psychoanalytic theory. CHARLES B. STROZIER, PHD Ph.D in History; training at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis; As the biographer of Heinz Kohut, with whom I also worked and did a book, I am deeply involved in the theory and practice of self psychology. I have a background in history that I think complements and deepens my clinical grasp of human suffering, complexities, and contradictions. Kohut, I believe, formulated the theory that is the basis for all that is good in contemporary psychoanalysis. I labor, along with many others, in that vineyard. KOICHI TOGASHI, PH.D. Ph.D. in Literature Special interest in psychological distresses on immigrating and acculturation, relationship and family problems, and uncomfortable feelings. RICHARD B. ULMAN, PH.D. Ph.D., political psychology, Licensed Psychoanalyst in New York State I have over thirty years of experience in treating adults and adolescents utilizing all major treatment modalities including individual, group, family, and couples. I specialize in the treatment of trauma and addiction. I am co-author (with Doris Brothers) of A Psychoanalytic Study of Trauma: The Shattered Self (The Analytic Press, 1988) as well as co-author (with Harry Paul) of The Self-Psychology of Addiction and its Treatment: Narcissus in Wonderland (Routledge, 2006). In addition, I have co-authored numerous articles and book chapters on trauma and addiction as well as on panic disorder and loss. SUSANNE M.
